We’re a small local shop, and we only collect what we need to get your order to your door. We don’t sell your information, and we don’t share it with anyone except the services listed below that help us run the shop. Questions? Email us at admin@islandcannabis.co.
What we collect
- Your order details: name, email, phone number, delivery address, what you ordered, and the delivery date and time you picked.
- Your account, if you make one: your email, a password (stored scrambled, so we can’t read it), saved addresses, past orders, your reward points and their history, and when you last signed in.
- Technical basics: like every website, our server records things such as your IP address and browser type, which helps us keep the site secure and working.
Our driver checks photo ID at the door to confirm you’re 19 or older.
How we use it
- To take your order, deliver it, and contact you about it (for example, if we can’t find your address).
- To work out your delivery fee and minimum from how far your address is.
- To run your account and reward points.
- To keep the records any business has to keep, like sales records for taxes.
Who else sees it
- Our web host stores the website and its data.
- Google Maps turns your delivery address into a location so we can measure the distance, and suggests addresses as you type at checkout.
- Google sign-in, if you choose to sign in with your Google account: Google tells us your name and email address, and we never see your Google password.
These services may store or process information outside Canada, including in the United States. We’d also share information if the law required us to.
Cookies
The site uses a few cookies to make the shop work: to remember your cart, keep you signed in, and remember that you’ve confirmed you’re 19 or older (for 30 days, so you aren’t asked on every visit). The shop also notes how you found us (for example a Google search or a link from another site) and saves that with your order, so we know what’s working. We don’t use advertising or tracking cookies, and we don’t share any of this with advertisers.
Emails
We email you about your orders and, if you have an account, your reward points. If we send you news about the shop, every email has a way to unsubscribe.
How long we keep it
We keep order records for as long as tax law requires (six years in Canada). Your account stays until you ask us to close it.
Your choices
You can see and update your details any time under My Account. Email us at admin@islandcannabis.co to get a copy of what we hold about you, to correct it, or to close your account. We’ll delete what we don’t have to keep for our records.
